We were given: Two hands to hold. To legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.

Warning! post with much use of formal language ahead…(because of wr)

It was a very good experience for me when LEGO visited Haig girls yesterday morning. Each of us was in charged of 8 girls for the activities. A few days ago, I was unsure if i can handle them or if they will listen to me, but yesterday I left Haig girls with a sense of accomplishment.

I was frantically trying to remember their names the moment after they finished introducing themselves. Haha but not very successful though. I felt that I was able to guide the children on what they are supposed to do. They were very enthusiastic when participating in the games and are willing to cooperate in other activities. Some of my group members also have very good artistic skills! A Malay girl also volunteered and attempted to write the Chinese words for most of the picture cards.

I actually started off feeling that I couldn’t really capture their attention but after attempts to engage them, they started to participate actively. I also find that the activities carried out were appropriate as they found it fun becuase they find joy in drawing.

The lovely kids surprised me when they presented a small souvenir that they made to me. They decorated a small piece of drawing block paper and left a few contact details with me. I totally didn’t see them doing it then. It must be when I went to collect the envelopes etc. What's more I also found out that some of them are fans of twilight, new moon n eclipse. :D

In spite of all this, I know that there are many areas which I need to improve on…(I shall not elaborate it here though) I'm really glad to have this opportunity to try to handle children and to be able to learn from this experience.

Went back to school for Chinese lesson before heading to CGH for the jab. Luckily it was 3 jabs and not 4! I think I might have more or less overcome my fear of needles cos I didn’t freak out during the injection. The third jab was especially painful but it only lasted for a few seconds, so nth really scary.

After the jab, jasper n I went back to sch to work on our grp’s wr. My arm started to sore after a while n I felt really tired. On the contrary, jasper arms were not pain at all n he was still so energetic. He was being OH SO IRRITATING and slapped my arms quite a few times.

wh, grace, jasper, jessica, wilson n I then went to some shop in kovan to print n bind wr after being chased out of sch by the security guard. My grp continued to touch up our wr while walking to bedok interchange lah. haha it was such a long interesting journey with lots of fun, laughter, danger n detours.

I know I've been MIA for quite long, but if i keep blogging then you'll have nothing to look forward to :D

just happened to open my drawer a few seconds ago and found a book mark that Mrs Peh gave me last yr, dated 10 Oct '07. Exactly 1 yr ago.
"Don't quit when the tide is lowest for it's just about to turn; Don't quit over doubts and questions, for there's something you may learn."

list of pieces i'm determined to somewhat learn by May next yr (not in any order of preference because playing the pieces depends on my mood):

1) Automne - Charminade
2) Pavane pour une Infante defunte - Ravel
3) Suite Bergamasque (prelude, minuet, clair de lune) - Debussy
4) Un Sospiro - Liszt ... definitely! rahhh but it's gonna be tough
5) Ballade No.1 in G minor - Chopin
6) Intermezzo in A major Op.118 No.2 - Brahms
7) La Campanella - Liszt
8) Faschingsschwank Aus Wien - Schumann
